"Hi [name], this is Sam from Confluxion Point. We help [trade type] contractors in Utah eliminate the manual data-entry workflows that eat office staff time. I'm calling because [specific reason — e.g. AGC member directory, ICP fit, referral]. Got two minutes?"
What it has to include
- Your name + firm in the first sentence
- Specific industry framing — "specialty trade contractors" or "mechanical contractors" beats "businesses"
- The problem we solve in one phrase — "manual data-entry workflows"
- A specific reason for calling them — not "I'm just calling to introduce ourselves"
- A small ask — "got two minutes?" beats "got time for a call?"
What never works
- "How are you today?" — wastes the only window of attention
- "I'd love to learn more about your business" — they don't care what you want
- "We help construction companies with technology" — too vague to register
